Today was a very exciting day for two reasons. First, I get to go to the Jazz vs. Hornets game in the lower bowl thanks to smarty pants Nicole winning tickets, but second (an most IMPORTANT) I have just paid off my student loan! It is gone, I'm free & it feels great.
I am also prepared for all the dates I will probably have this weekend....one of which is bound to be Prince Charming. Why you ask? Well, when I was young & stupid and taking out all these student loans I said out loud on numerous occasions....."I don't have to pay these off, my husband will." As you all know I am still husband less and have now paid every penny of my student loan with my own blood, sweat & tears. Only now that my student loan was paid off with entirely my own money will I be allowed to get married. My phone should be ringing off the hook with suitors.....probably with their own student loans that I will have to pay off for them for further punishment.
So for those of you planning your lives this year, make sure to mark you calendars for a very special December 24th wedding for me and a yet to be determined Prince Charming. I have reserved the special day of Dec 24th at my mother's request. She always said Christmas is the best time to get married....or wait maybe she said it was the worst. I just can't seem to remember :)

New Years Resolutioners....Leave my gym
I'm really annoyed these days at the gym due to all the "New Years Resolutioners." These are the people who got a little bee in their bonnet that this is the year they are going to be fit. They buy the new outfits, new shoes, a gym pass.....they are determined to be totally dedicated. Then they come to MY gym and proceed to do the following:
1. Make parking a nightmare where walking into the gym is a workout by itself.
2. Steal my spot in aerobics (or steal Stacy's spot & mess up all our normal spacing).
3. Come to pump, we run out of equipment, and the teacher then does a different routine to accommodate all the people without weights & my workout is messed up. If you can't get there on time for the mad rush then tough luck is what I say.
4. Set up their step too close to you so there is no room to move and do lunges appropriately.
Luckily for me this busyness only lasts until the middle of Feb when everyone realizes they aren't going to reach their goals and quit coming to the gym. That is when I get MY gym back and most importantly.....my routine.
The funny thing is that people try to start eating right & working out in January.....the coldest, yuckiest month there is. They should try it in June.....it is much easier to workout when it is warm outside and you don't want to eat "comfort food" all the time.

I must have done something wrong......
This past weekend I have remember how lucky I am to never get sick. Unfortunately this reminder came in the form of every possible symptom a person could have at one time. My sickness began about 2 hrs before our family x-mas party. At the time I had a slight cough, but didn't think much of it and wasn't feeling really bad. I should have thought more about not being around the kids, but I honestly didn't feel sick and didn't think I was really getting sick. I have now learned otherwise. In the past weekend I have experienced all of the following:
- Sore throat
- Cough
- Sinus mess (runny nose, sneezing, headaches)
- Ear ache
- Throwing up
- Coming out the "other" end
- Fever with the "shakes"
Needless to say I went to the doctor today and learned that I have strep throat and some sort of ear/sinus mess that is turning into bronchitis. Luckily I was given a shot in my hip and sent on my way & I'm feeling much better right now than I have all weekend.
I surely hope that nobody I was around gets this disease, but I can't be positive as I was probably quite contagious. So I apologize in advance.
I did get a day off work....I suppose that is a plus.

What to do with 10 days off work!
I was blessed this past holiday season to enjoy 10 days off of work. I have found that I have plenty to do at home & can keep myself quite busy. Who needs a job? Not me!
This past week Mother Nature has brought Utah a ton of snow storms. As a season pass holding, snowboarder with 10 days off work I found that Mother Nature had excellent timing!! I went snowboarding 6 times in the past 10 days and I'm really perfecting my skills. Just a few more times & I'll be ready for the Olympics!
Christmas morning I went snowboarding with Ryan & Greg. Sundance had received 8" of new snow on Christmas Eve, but the sun was shining on Christmas morning and luckily most people were opening their presents which meant that there were about 50 people at the resort. We had a great time on all the fresh new snow. The best day snowboarding, however, came the following Saturday. It had snowed most of the day on Friday and was still snowing a little bit on Saturday morning. As we rode the lift to the back mountain we found that it was a blizzard at the top. The wind was howling & there was snow everywhere. As we rode the lift that first time we thought that the day may be very, very short. However after our first run down we knew for sure that we were going to stay for a very, very LONG time. Once you dropped off the peak of the mountain the wind was gone & the snow was AWESOME! We were in powder up to our mid-thighs and I kept spraying myself in the face with my own powder. I had to go fast or else I would sink into all the powder and get stuck so I was flying! I have never had so much fun on my snowboard. I felt like I was gliding and through the air. There is not much better (in the winter, that is). We stayed until our legs told us it was time to leave.
Other than that I spent a lot of time at the mall shopping, working out, eating, studying for the PMP exam, and just relaxing.
2008 was rung in with 2 of my favorite things, the Utah Jazz (winning, finally) and Cafe Rio. It also involved getting stopped in a DUI roadblock right by my house. I really must live in the ghetto. I am happy to report that New Years Eve did not involve any lame "stand-around."

Favorite Aunt!
It has been confirmed yet again that I'm the favorite Aunt! This past Thursday Ashley & Amber came and stayed for a night with me at my house. I believe this is mostly for my free babysitting services so that Amber could attend a bridal shower....LOL!
The night consisted of Ashley engulfed in an apparent favorite food (chicken enchiladas) followed by roughly 8 rice crispy treats. With all of this sugar in her body sleep was not going to come soon. We took a trip to Joann's for Amber which proved fruitless, however on the way back I proceeded to sneeze and have Ashley say "Bless you"......more like "ESSSS You" SO CUTE!!! Since Ashley was in such a good mood I saw no harm in letting her stay up as long as possible. Around 9:45pm I thought it might be time for bed. So we went into her bed, she reminded me to say prayers (how sad is that) and then she went to bed.
Amber came home 10 minutes later and got her out of bed for April to see her. Thus when she was crusty the next day I blame that on Amber.....she is the one that kept her up so late, not me.
And speaking of crusty the next day....Amber is also to blame for keeping me up until 1:30am :) Overall it was very fun to have Amber & Ashley stay at my house. Ashley is the first kid to stay overnight at my house. Look how happy little Miss Ashley looks.

I'm turning 22....oh wait, 32!
Some of you have heard this story, but about a month ago at NuSkin's convention I was hit on by a 16 year old. I, of course, did not know initially that he was that young (he was definitely younger than me). However, after discussing that he would like to me to come visit him in Hawaii & he would "skip school" to take me around the island on his scooter. That is when I learned that school was not the University of Hawaii, but was in fact high school. It was flattering that he thought I was young enough for him to hit on. I of course was not interested in "jail bait."
However, this past weekend I attended the Orem High Football game. You may be wondering why....originally it was because my friend Laura's husband, Sam (also my friend) coaches for the Orem Golden Tigers and she wanted to have someone to sit with. After attending the game I have learned it was for a significant ego boost. As I went to purchase my ticket I asked for a ticket & the girl at the ticket booth asked if I needed a student one or adult one.
Who cares if I'm turning 32. I'm apparently getting younger each year!

Blonde no more!
After years of being blonde I went dark on a whim! I'm not sure if I like it or not, mostly because I don't recognize myself when I look in the mirror. It is going to take some getting used to & then I can decide if I like it or not. This is actually my NATURAL hair color which pretty much tells you how long I have been dying my hair blonde (12 years).
Anyways, here is a picture so you can study it & memorize what I look like. I don't want you guys to walk right by me on the street & not even say hello.
